Refuse and Recycling Collection

Weekly Garbage and Fortnightly Recycling Collection is between 6.00am and 4.00pm

Sulphur Creek, Heybridge and Turners Beach - Monday 

East Ulverstone - Tuesday

Ulverstone, Gawler, Forth and Leith - Wednesday

West Ulverstone - Thursday (except East of Queen Street - Wednesday)

Penguin - Friday (except South of the South Road overpass - Monday)

Note - collections that would normally occur on Christmas Day or Anzac Day will be undertaken on the following weekday.

Wheelie Bins - The Council provides a 120 litre waste wheelie bin and a 240 litre recycling wheelie bin to each residence. These are the property of the Council and must not be removed from the property.

  • Concrete
  • Medical waste

Recycling Collection

What CAN go in your recycling bin (please remove tops and rinse all containers):

  • Plastics recycling symbols
  • Newspapers/magazines/junk mail/cardboard/office papers
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Milk and juice cartons
  • Steel and aluminium cans, and trays

What should NOT go in your recycling bin:

  • Plastic bags
  • Window glass, pyrex or mirrors
  • Batteries
  • Light globes
  • Polystyrene foam, including meat trays
  • Crockery or china
  • Household rubbish
  • Food items
  • Household chemicals or oils
  • Nappies
